Maldives police brutality – A public YouTube playlist

Hey guys. Need a favor.

The security services of the Maldives, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), has increasing started showing an inhumane brutal side since the coup on the 7th February 2012. Their brutality makes us believe the country is currently in the throes of a a military dictatorship.

This YouTube playlist that I am trying to compile aims to bring document and bring together different instances of police brutality (especially since the 7th February coup – but not necessarily) towards unarmed citizens of the Maldives to a global audience in a single place, – in a Public YouTube Playlist.

The link for the playlist is here;

If you got a YouTube video (doesn’t matter if it’s your own or somebody else’s video) that you think should be in this playlist, just provide the link in the comments section in this post and I’ll do the rest.

We have to do everything we can to make the whole world aware of what’s going on in the Maldives. We all have to play our own little part.

Some points to think about and to be inspired;

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” ~Anne Frank “If everyone howled at every injustice, every act of barbarism, every act of unkindness, then we would be taking the first step towards a real humanity.” ~Nelson DeMille

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” ~William James

“It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little – do what you can. ” ~Sydney Smith

“Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.” ~Author Unknown

“Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.” ~Mother Teresa

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.” ~Bishop Desmond Tutu

“We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

“[W]e are the heirs of a past of rope, fire, and murder. I for one am not ashamed of this past. My shame is for those who became so inhuman that they could inflict this torture upon us. ” ~Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?, 1967

Cheers and much appreciated for the help and contribution.
